Pappu charu

pappu charu
Ingredients


red gram dal 1 cup
tamarind 3 flakes
tomatoes 2
onion  4 small size
green chillies 3
carrot 1
ridge gourd 10 mediucm size pieces
drumstick 5 pieces
bringal 2
turmeric pinch
salt to taste
red chillie powder 1 spoon
jaggery small piece
curry leaves some
coriander leaves some
oil 1 spoon
ghee 1 spoon
mustard seeds 1/4 spoon
cumin seeds 1.4  spoon
garlic cloves 5
dry chillies 2
asefodila pinch



Method

soak red gram dal in water about 30 minutes.after that add 2 cups of water and soaked red gram dal in a cooker and cook until 3 whistles come.
clean all vegetables
soak tamarind flakes in 1 cup of water.
cut vegetables into medium size pieces.
peel carrot and cut into round shape pieces.
cut ridge gourd into medium size pieces.
cut drumstick into 2 inch size pieces.
if small onions are available cut big size onion into 2 pieces.
cut green chillies into long size piece
1.add water in a vessel.add onion pieces,red chillie pieces,tomatoes,bottle gourd pieces,carrot pieces,radish pieces and cook them till they become tender .it will take nearly 20 to 30 minutes in low flame.
2.add drumstick and bringal pieces when 3/4 of vegetables cooked.
3.mash the cooked  red dram dal (blend in mixie jar also).
4.add  dal in cooking vegetables .
5.add turmeric,salt,red chilli powder and jaggery cook for 10 minutes.
6.add 2 to 3 cups of water in soaked tamarind flakes and extract juice from it.
7.add this tamarind juice.
8.cook for 5 minutes.taste the pappu charu  salt  and spicy  is enough or not.
9.if you want add more salt and red chilli powder.finally add coriander leaves.put off the flame.
10.add oil in a pan.after heating the oil add ghee.
11.ghee is melted add mustard seeds.
12.when mustard seeds stareted to crackle add garlic cloves and cumin seeds.
13.add asafoetida and curry leaves.put off the flame.add this in pappu charu.
