Creamy Dry fruit Palathalikalu

This is very special item in vinayaka chavathi.In some houses doing palathalikalu on vinayaka chavithi coming  as tradition.Some one  called it as Thalikalu which one prepare only rice flour,jaggery and water not with milk.So it is called Thalikalu.Which one make with  milk(palu) is called Pala thalikalu.This is make with creamy milk for increase the taste.You can prepare with low fat milk also  if you feel high calorie. Adding jaggery is  gives iron to the body.Adding dry fruits also gives yummy taste to the recipe.

Ingredients


cream milk1/2 liter
rice flour200 grs
jaggery250grs
elachi5
cashew nuts10
badam5
sago30 grs
ghee2 spoons

Preparation


Soak sago in 1 cup of water for 30 to 40 minutes.
Rice flour packets are avaiable in super market.
If we like we can make it at home.
wash the rice and drain the water completely and dry in the sun shade till rice become dry and make this dried rice to power using blender.
Take a cooking vessel and add jaggery pieces and 1/4 cup of water for making jaggery syrup.Put this vessel on the flame.
Cook till jaggery pieces completely dissolved in the water and forms some bubbles.Put off the flame.
Take a mixing bowl.Add rice flour and 2 to 3 spoons of jaggery syrup and mix well.Then add hot water little by little and prepare smooth  dough .
Insert this dough in palathalikalu maker(or chakrala giddalu, one of the snake item preparing instrument).

Method


1.Take a pan and put on the flame.
2.After heating the pan add ghee.
3.When ghee is melted add cashew nut and fry till they become to golden colour.Keep them in a plate.
4.Add badam and fry till they change they colour.Put the flame in medium or low.
5.After frying the badam keep them in a plate.Remove the pan from the flame
6.Put a cooking vessel on the flame.
7.Pour 1 glass of water(500 ml) and cream milk and boil.
8.When milk is boiled add soaked sago with water and mix well  and cook till sago become very soft.
9.Take that instrument which one is filled with rice flour dough.
10.Leave the chakralu in spiral fashion and again repeat the same with remain dough.
11.Do not stir the mixier with spoon.It may be break the palathalikalu.
12.Cook for low or medium flame for 5 to 7 minutes.
13.Put off the flame and add jaggery syrup.
14.Add fried cashew nuts,badam and kismis(optional).
15.Stir the mixer well.Taste it if sweet is enough or not.
16.If not add 2 spoon of  sugar.
  

 Keep in the mind


Rice flour preparation is different ways.Some one prepare wet rice to make flour.Some one use dry rice to make the  flour.
You can follow any one there is gives no change in  taste of  recipes
Add the jaggery syrup after put  off the flame.
Frying dry fruits in low or medium flame only.Do not use high flame for speed cooking.
Adding kismis is optional.And some one add grated coconut also.If you like you can add grated coconut when palathalikalu is cooked.
