Vadapappu and Panakam Preparation

Ingredients



Moong dal 1 cup
water 200ml
jaggery 150kg
elachi 5
black pepper seeds 1/4 spoon



Method

Wash moong dal with water and drain the water.Then add 1cup of drinking water and soak moong dal for 15 to 30 minutes.
After that drain the water completely and take the soaked moong dal in prasadam plate.Put small piece of jaggery on vadapappu.


Preparation of Panakam


Mash the jaggery pieces with masher or any other thing(chapati roller).
Add elachi in mixie jar and make a powder.
Add this one also in the water.Then add mashed jaggery.
 Take black pepper and crush it or make a powder.
Add this in the water.Then mix all well.If you like more sweet you can increase quantity of jaggery.
 vinayaka chavathi  prasadam  vadapappu and panakam is ready...

Easy to Prepare Chalimidi (Festival prasadam)

This is very simple and easy way to prepare prasadam chalimidi.In the festival time we donot have enough time to prepare all prasadams(naivedyam).In indian tradition some prasadams like chalimidi,vadapappu and panakam are neccessary prasadams to prepare in some festivals like vinayaka chavathi,varalakshmi vratham.These three items are neccessary to prepare in festival day.This tradition is coming from our grand mother days.So iam preparing this chalimidi very simple way only for prasadams.

Ingredients


rice flour 1 cup
jaggery 1 1/4 cup
elachi 3

Preparation


Rice flour  ready made packet is available in the super market or any grocery shops.If you like you can prepare it at home also.But takes some time.
Wash the rice with water .Then drain the water.Take a cotton cloth spread the rice over the cloth and put this cloth in sun shade till rice become dry (approx 5 to 6 hours will take  to dry) the rice.
After that add this rice in a mixie jar and make a fine powder and sieve this powder  to get  fine and smooth  rice flour.
Mash the jaggery pieces with masher.

Method


Add rice flour,jaggery and elachi into a mixie jar and blend  to mix all well.
Then add 3 to 5 drops of water and blend the powder once again.
Water mix up the powder and  make a chalimidi consistency.This is the easy way to make chalimidi.
This is called pachchi chalimidi.And use as prasadams in festival time.



Keep  in the mind


This is not correct procedure to prepare high quantity of chalimidi that is prepare in the occasions of  marriage,srimantham and barasala.That process is different from this.
Add very less quantity water.Other wise chalimidi consistency become watery.
You can decorate the chalimidi with poppy seeds and dry fruits.
