This is very easy to prepare one of the sweet items which one is very famous in vinayaka chavathi prasadams.Sweets which are made with jaggery is very good for health.In vinayaka chavathi prasadams main ingredients are rice flour or rice ravva,jaggery and moong dal or chana dal.Rice ,jaggery and dals are good food for every one and gives some essential elements to the body.
Ingredients
rice flour or rice ravva | 1cup |
jaggery | 1 1/2 cup |
elachi | 3 |
dry grated coconut | 2 spoons |
chana dal | 3 spoons |
Preparation
Wash chana dal in the water .Drain the water.Add 1 cup of drinking water and soak for 30 to 45 minutes.
Dry grated coconut is available in super market .It is optional .If you do not like to add you can avoid it.
Make elachi power.
Mash jaggery pieces with masher or any other instrument like chapati roller pin.
Rice flour or rice ravva ready made packets are available in the market.
Method
1.Take a cooking vessel and put on the flame.
2.Add 2 1/2 cups of water and boil it.
3.Take soaked chana dal and drain the water completely.
4.When water is boiling add this soaked chanadal and stir it.cook for 1 minute.
5.Then add rice flour or rice ravva and stir the mixer and cook till rice flour or rice ravva cooked well.Then add elachi and mashed jaggery and mix all well.cook for 2 minutes or consistency of ravva should be easy to make balls.
6.Put off the flame.cool the mixer in room temperature.
7.Make kudumulu shapes(ball shapes) and steam these balls.Steaming is optional.you can eat this sweet kudumulu with out steaming also.
Keep in the mind
Rice flour or Rice ravva can make at home.
Making rice ravva or rice flour at home
Soak the rice in the water for 15 minutes.and drain the water completely.Take a cloth and spread this rice on it and dry in the sun shade till rice become dry.
After that take a mixie jar and add this rice and make a power or ravva.seive this powder for fine and smooth rice flour or rice ravva.
We can store this ravva or flour for 6 to 10 months.
Steaming kudumulu is optional because we cooked the ravva or flour before making the balls(kudumulu).
If you add hot water to the flour or ravva to mix it instead of cooking. This process of Making kudumulu need steaming neccessary.
